We had the most wonderful Thai food and experience at Khao San Thai. Sam (partial owner) was welcoming and friendly. He was so quick to bring menus, make recommendations on favourite dishes and was so attentive! Must check out this new favourite place out! It will be a new regular.

This restaurant was on my list to try and I am so happy I came here Friday night. They were busy but still accommodated us for 8:45pm. Late dinner but so worth it. We had a difficult time deciding what to order and the owner was tending to our table and he made some recommendations. He recommended the drunken noodle and green curry chicken. Both dishes were unreal!!! I usually go for green curry chicken in all Thai restaurants because it's my favorite dish, but the drunken noodle was up there too for me and I would come back for both. They will make is less spicy or more spicy at your request. Prices were very reasonable and the owner is such a sweet man. He stayed and chatted with us past close and he was so genuine. You can tell he puts lots of effort into the restaurant and it shows. The food was some of the best Thai food I have had in Calgary. One of the best restaurants we have eaten at for sure! Will be back! Presentation was beautiful too

Best Thai food (in my opinion). It's the best for the price range. Yes, you can get cheaper but it won't taste as good! I have tried every item on the Appetizers list and can't pick a favorite. Find an occasion to go, and then GO!

I visited this place after receiving recommendations from various friends. Clean tables and friendly staff response made me more fond of this place. The food was excellent enough. In particular, the soup recommended by the staff was so delicious. I'll visit you again with my friends soon. Definitely recommendation.

Place is not too big but we were there late in the afternoon when it was just starting to get busy. So we didn't need to fight for space. The only issue is looking for a free parking space nearby. Thus minus one star. The staff recommended a place to move our car as where we parked may not be free after all. I love, love, loved the Braised short ribs in Massaman curry! I have allergy to spicy food but I heeded no mind and just couldn't stop enjoying that super tasty Thai Curry! I have actually forgotten to try out the other dishes but it seems my friends enjoyed whatever they ordered. I heard the Crying Tiger is also a great choice but we didn't order that night. As my friends are locals in Calgary, I trust it is a highly recommended choice as well. I always prefer the fried rice over steamed rice so I ordered the pineapple fried rice and it was yummy as well. Our waitress have such a welcoming, smiling face and we find that a very pleasant customer service experience. I highly recommend this place when you are in downtown Calgary!

Pad Thai So Good, I’d Time Travel for It I stumbled into this little gem on a late-night walk, half-expecting to be turned away since they were minutes from closing. Instead, they welcomed me in like I was an old friend who just beat the clock in some kind of delicious food heist. Five minutes later—FIVE—I had a steaming plate of Pad Thai in front of me. And listen, I’ve had my fair share of Pad Thai, but this? This was next level. Noodles with the perfect chew, sauce that hit every note from tangy to umami to just the right kick of heat, and the kind of balance that makes you rethink every mediocre takeout version you’ve ever had. The best part? The staff. You can tell when people actually care about what they’re serving, and the owner? The man’s got passion. He’s not just making food—he’s creating edible joy. Would I come back? No. I’d run back. I’d fight the laws of time and space to experience that first bite again. If you’re debating where to eat, consider this your sign. Get the Pad Thai. Thank me later.
